I love The Inn Between. We stop there every time we go to Burt Lake or Indian River. The setting/location is hard to beat... right on the river, outside, watching the boats go by. It's also fun to dock and get out for dinner. The perch and walleye are always very fresh and always excellent. The fries and coleslaw are also very good and complement the fish. The service is usually very good, but can sometimes be slow if they're busy. No free refills on pop is the biggest downside. Otherwise, a very nice restaurant!

Bad on every level. It took 40 minutes for half of our party to get food and another 15 minutes for the rest of us to get food. Our drinks were never refilled. The blt wrap was made with bacon bits. The perch was served cold. The mini grilled cheese was made with upside-down burger buns. The Coney Island pizza is a fun idea but it tastes awful. The other pizzas were ok but one was not sliced and served with a slotted spoon. If you are boating down the river, pack your lunch.

Its a great view and a cool location to stop if you are on a boat. The food and beer selection are average at best but its still an affordable place to get a decent meal on the inland waterway. If you are expecting fine dining, go somewhere else. If you want a burger and a beer while taking a break from the water, the Inn Between will suffice.

The Inn Between is the perfect Up North getaway venue. We stayed at some cottages right next to the restaurant, and had a great time watching the boats go by on the river. We ate at the Inn Between several times during our stay and really enjoyed the perch basket. Then when nighttime rolled around I partook in some adult beverages in the bar upstairs. The bar is shaped like a boat, and there was a live band playing old rock tunes. Overall my experience in Indian River was super memorable because of the Inn Between.

Our family ate here and the walleye portion was small and pizza was very greasy. Waitress was very dishonest. She heavily overcharged us and gave us incorrect change. Beware.

One of my favorite places to eat in the area! Love to take the boat down the river and park right in front of the restaurant. Fish basket is delicious! So is the pizza! Great atmosphere!

My dad and I were jet-skiing down the river today, and had done some pre-game planning for a stop at The Inn Between. It was one of the best decisions of the day, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to tie up your boat and grab a bite to eat. We were told that the perch is always fresh caught, as well as the walleye, but the waitress said that her personal favorite was the perch. As a rookie fish consumer, who was I too argue? The plate came with awesome double fried fries, and decent cole-slaw. The fish was perfectly fried, and tasted amazing. For 8 bucks it was an awesome value, in a great location!!

It is what it is. This is a bar with a big food menu. I love it for boating up to their seawall, grabbing a meal and sitting outside watching river traffic go by. Coney dogs are okay, burgers are pretty good. Expect a bar on the river and you'll enjoy it. Expect fine dining and be disappointed. Worth the stop if you're boating by.

Enjoyed a lunch with family at the inn between and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and everyone enjoyed the meal. Great outdoor location right on the river and the kids in our group enjoyed watching the boats float by. Good seafood selection. My only criticism was the beverages. The water tasted like it was served out of a dirty bucket, and they had no beer on draft, which I found odd for a full service bar. We would return!

Burgers cooked just the way you want. Good walleye baskets. Coleslaw average. Blt pizza loaded with bacon. Good crust. Maybe a little crispier would have moved it to 5 star. Service was 5 star today with continuous refills.

Classy yet casual. I like it. Tasty burgers. Convenient spot to stop while boating the Indian River or when in town. Fun to watch the boats go by while seated at outdoor picnic tables. No checks.

We boat down Lake Mullett down the Indian River and dock at the Inn Between. Cold Corona's, pizza bread, and fried walleye and fries. Life doesn't get much better than that Up North in Indian River.

Three stars mainly because it's a nice setting on the river. The food is average at best, and the Caesar salad was the worst we've had in many years. No beer on tap - WTF? And a very limited selection of ales, although the local "North Star" ale was good. The service was amiable but not very professional.

Their pizza was excellent, Traverse City beer to accompany. We sat on the patio next to the river watching the boats go by. Really enjoyed our visit!

The service wasn't very friendly, seldom a smile. We waited to be seated Defoe a few minutes before being greeted. It took about 10+ minutes to get a soda refill. The guy setting up the band stuff was upset with where we're sitting he said, "I need people to move so I can set up." The food was over cooked badly but I wouldn't return based solely on how the service was.
